In a public shopping mall in central Stockholm, field observations revealed a large number of dogs navigating spaces designed entirely for humans. Movement between floors repeatedly disrupted their flow. Although elevators are safer, dog owners often chose escalators, creating stressful and potentially dangerous situations for their dogs.

The design process resulted in a two-part solution, a physical emergency stop button that attaches to the dogs leash. In combination with a mobile application made to pair the physical button and identify the user in case of misuse. It also provides information such as the nearest veterinary hospital, common escalator-related dog injuries, and a backup emergency stop.
Role: Visual design (ux&ui, logo, design process poster), field observations & analysis.

A button that attaches to the dog's leash, featuring a simple on/off interaction. Designed for time-critical situations, where today's escalator emergency stop buttons lack accessibility.

Our product needed a logo, so I took it upon myself to create one that felt right for the concept, aiming for a tone that felt approachable rather than overly serious or dooming.

For the exhibition, the group was required to present a poster showing the design process. I aimed to make it both playful and informative, while meeting the content requirements and keeping it visually engaging.
