YLMA
YLMA
As part of a standalone course in graphic design at Berghs SOC, I developed a complete perfume concept including bottle design, packaging, branding, and marketing strategy.
YLMA is a unisex fragrance targeted towards quality-oriented consumers in the Nordic region. The name is inspired by the Icelandic word “ylmur”, meaning scent, grounding the brand in my cultural heritage while positioning it within a Nordic design context.
The concept explores contrast: raw nature and refined minimalism. Inspired by Icelandic volcanic landscapes. The bottle combines frosted glass and brushed metal, balancing softness and strength. Chosen to communicate longevity, tactility, and understated luxury.
The packaging extends this narrative through a volcanic-aesthetic pattern. Merging a clean Nordic foundation with a more playful, art-driven energy. This creates a brand that feels sophisticated, but not sterile.
To develop the 3D packaging and visualizations, I learned Blender specifically for this project. This allowed me to experiment with light, materiality, and form in a realistic way, and strengthened my ability to prototype and present the design concepts.
